This is the first picture of Caterham’s new Superlight R500. The teaser image appeared on the company’s website over the weekend, and is expected to be the Surrey-based manufacturer’s fastest-ever road car. Which makes it pretty darn quick.
Kim Rhode is an Olympic champion, which by itself would be impressive enough. But Rhode is not just a one-time Olympic champion. The Summer Games in London will be the fifth Olympics for this 33-year-old trap and skeet specialist.

The scrappage scheme was supposed to give the UK car market a massive boost, but latest figures out today show new car registrations are still down by more than a quarter. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) reports that new car registrations fell 24.8% in May 2009 to 134,858 units. However, this fall marks an improvement on earlier months of the year.
